Woman Alleges Inappropriate Comment by Technician at Rome Hospital During CT Scan

Rome, Italy – A 23-year-old woman, identified as Marzia Sardo, has publicly shared an emotional account of an alleged incident of inappropriate behavior by a medical technician at Policlinico Umberto I in Rome. The incident reportedly occurred on August 21st, around 9 PM, while Sardo was undergoing a cranial CT scan.According to Sardo's testimony, after being instructed to remove her mask due to a metal wire, she asked the technician if she also needed to remove her bra, which contained metal. The technician allegedly responded, "Of course, if you remove it, you'll make us all happy," while looking at his male colleagues.Visibly distressed and tearful in her video, Sardo expressed profound anger and frustration, emphasizing that a hospital should be a safe and professional environment. She stated, "I am tired of having to deal with these things every day, and I am tired of having to deal with them even in a hospital environment that should be a safe environment." Sardo, who had been at the emergency room since 2:30 PM for various exams, urged the public to share her story, hoping to prevent similar experiences for others and to challenge the normalization of such conduct. The hospital has not yet issued a public statement regarding the alleged incident.
