Laisser un enfant seul à la maison, l’âge minimum et les règles à connaître sel…
Vous pensez à laisser votre enfant seul à la maison. Mais ce dernier a-t-il l’âge requis pour passer cette étape importante ? Réponse ici.
Paris, France – A recent online video by legal information professional Maud Tambellini has shed light on a common misconception regarding the legal age for leaving children unattended in France. Contrary to popular belief that children cannot be left alone before the age of 15, French law does not specify a minimum age for this. Tambellini clarified that the relevant legal framework pertains to 'parental abandonment,' primarily governed by articles 350 and 375-7 of the Civil Code. These articles allow a family affairs judge to declare a child abandoned and facilitate adoption if parents have failed to maintain necessary relationships for the child's education or development for a year prior to a legal request. While short periods of absence are generally permissible, Tambellini warned that regularly leaving a child alone for extended durations, such as a full week, could indeed lead to legal repercussions. She underscored the importance of common sense in such decisions, advising parents to consider the child's maturity and safety.
