Andorra – A local mechanic, known as Miquelturbo, recently shed light on a common automotive problem: a significant loss of power in vehicles, often traced back to a malfunctioning MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. In a recent video, Miquelturbo demonstrated the sensor's location within the engine bay of a Golf diesel, explaining its crucial role in the car's performance. According to the mechanic, the MAP sensor is responsible for measuring the pressure within the engine's intake manifold. This data is then transmitted to the car's central control unit, which uses it to precisely adjust fuel injection. When this small component fails, it can lead to a noticeable decrease in engine power, as the vehicle's computer receives inaccurate information, hindering optimal performance. “It seems unbelievable that such a small thing in such a big engine can affect it so much,” Miquelturbo stated, emphasizing the disproportionate impact of a faulty MAP sensor. He advised viewers that understanding the function and location of this sensor can be beneficial for diagnosing and addressing power loss issues in their own vehicles.
