Mystery of Yishun Cat's Death Solved: Vehicular Accident, Not Cruelty
A beloved community cat, King Kong, was found dead in Yishun, Singapore on May 9th, 2025. His caretaker initially believed King Kong had been brutally murdered, describing injuries that appeared to be from a sharp object. However, an investigation by the National Parks Board (NParks) revealed a different story. "Through our investigation, we confirmed that the cat's injuries were consistent with a vehicular accident," stated Joshua Teoh, Director of Enforcement and Investigation at NParks. The post-mortem examination by AVA supported this conclusion, showing injuries such as fractures of the pelvis and sternum, and hemorrhaging, all consistent with blunt force trauma. The initial location of the body, in the middle of the road, further supports the vehicular accident theory. While the community mourned the loss of King Kong, the NParks investigation brought closure and highlighted the importance of thorough investigations in animal death cases.
