One woman says that an unscrupulous salesperson at an Ashley Furniture store has another way of tricking people into paying higher prices.
A recent viral video has brought to light concerns about pricing practices at Ashley Furniture, with one consumer detailing a significant discrepancy between in-store and online prices for the same items. The video, uploaded by user "my_winning_season," describes how she and her husband sought to purchase a couch from an Ashley Furniture store. According to the consumer, after selecting a couch in-store, they were quoted a price that included substantial additional costs for delivery and a warranty, pushing the total significantly higher than initially anticipated. "It's like fifteen hundred, two thousand dollars more than what she had just told us," the woman stated in the video, referring to the sales associate. Her husband subsequently found the identical couch on Ashley Furniture's direct website for over a thousand dollars cheaper, with the warranty and delivery also being significantly less expensive online. When the consumer attempted to inquire about the store's price match policy, citing information from Ashley's own website, the sales associate reportedly feigned ignorance. "She pretended to not even know they had one," the user recounted. This account follows a previous video from another user who claimed to have been defrauded $350 by Ashley Furniture. The current video serves as a warning, suggesting that consumers should be vigilant about comparing prices and understanding all charges when purchasing from the retailer.
