Walmart Employee in Madison, Alabama, Alleges Unjust Termination and Discrimination

Madison, Alabama – A recent incident at a Walmart store in Madison, Alabama, has drawn attention after an employee, identified as court.🫶🏾 (mylifeascourt), publicly alleged unfair termination and discriminatory practices. The employee claims she was fired this morning for requesting the removal of attendance points accrued due to illness, despite having communicated her condition to management. According to the employee's account, she had been feeling unwell, experiencing symptoms like throwing up and sweating, and was unable to get out of bed. She stated that she texted her manager, Ms. Ersha, at 7:35 AM to inform her of her sickness. However, Ms. Ersha allegedly responded that being sick is "not excusable" and refused to remove the points. The employee further questioned what would have happened if she had passed out at work, to which Ms. Ersha reportedly said she would have been sent home without points, but that requesting it beforehand was not acceptable. The employee also brought up a past incident where she was denied a leave of absence through Sedgwick due to not having been employed for a full year. She expressed frustration over what she perceives as a lack of empathy and communication from management, particularly Ms. Ersha, stating, "I can't control the fact that if I have somebody dying." She also highlighted her dedication, having worked with a swollen mouth after surgery, which she felt was unrecognized. The employee concluded by advising others against working or shopping at this particular Walmart, alleging that the company is "very weird and very racist," citing an instance where another employee "cussed opd out" but remained employed. Walmart corporate has not yet issued a statement regarding these allegations.
