A Bay Area mother, Reina Pasternak, recently faced a frustrating ordeal with Airbnb after booking a Southern California rental for her son's post-surgery recovery. Upon arrival, she discovered numerous issues: a broken door lock, stained furniture, dirty appliances, and a clogged toilet. "The toilet clogged pretty much immediately upon arrival, and we were told not to use the toilet at all moving forward," Pasternak stated in an interview. Despite contacting Airbnb and the host, she received no resolution. However, after NBC Bay Area intervened, Airbnb issued a full refund and an apology.
