France's New Law: Instagram Influencers Face Registration Deadline
France introduces new law requiring Instagram declaration for influencers with over 1000 followers. Starting July 15th, 2025, all Instagram accounts in France with more than 1000 followers will be required to register with a government platform. This initiative aims to regulate the influencer market and combat tax evasion. "This measure is crucial to ensure transparency and fairness," explains a government spokesperson. However, some influencers express concern that this could stifle freedom of expression. "It's a step towards greater control," argues one influencer. The law imposes fines up to €1500 for non-compliance and temporary account suspension. The government hopes this will promote responsible use of social media and ensure fair taxation.
