The campaign, dubbed "Speed," aimed to improve road safety and reduce traffic violations. Videos circulating on social media show police officers using speed guns to monitor drivers' speeds and pull over those exceeding the limits. One officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated, "Our goal is to promote responsible driving and reduce the number of accidents caused by speeding." The campaign paid particular attention to taxi and car-sharing drivers, who were frequently observed exceeding speed limits. The video footage also highlights various speed limit signs throughout Minsk, reminding drivers of the appropriate speeds for different areas.
