Mexico Invests Billions in New Passenger Rail Line Connecting Saltillo and Nuevo Laredo
Nuevo León and Coahuila to be connected by new passenger train line. A new passenger train line connecting Saltillo and Nuevo Laredo is set to be constructed, representing a significant investment in Mexico's northern infrastructure. The project, spearheaded by the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), involves an investment exceeding 138 billion pesos. The 363.1-kilometer route will feature five strategically placed stations, promising substantial reductions in travel times between major cities in the region. The initiative aims to enhance connectivity and metropolitan mobility in the north of the country and is part of Claudia Sheinbaum's "Prosperidad Compartida" program. The project is expected to significantly improve transportation and economic opportunities for residents of the region.
