Teen Disappears in Santa Cruz After Refusing Drug Sales Threats

SANTA CRUZ, BOLIVIA – A 15-year-old boy has been reported missing in Santa Cruz de la Sierra after allegedly receiving threats related to drug sales. The mother of the teenager filed a formal complaint with the police, stating her son disappeared after being pressured to sell controlled substances. According to the mother's testimony, her son informed her that he was being threatened by an individual who demanded he engage in the sale of marijuana. The threat included a warning that if he refused, his entire family would be reported to the Special Force to Combat Drug Trafficking (FELCC). The incident occurred on Sunday, June 15, 2025, around 11:30 PM, when the boy left his home to go to a nearby store and has not returned since. The family expresses deep concern for his safety, fearing that something harmful may have occurred following the threats. Authorities have activated search and rescue investigations to locate the missing adolescent. The police are actively working on the case, and the community awaits updates on the boy's whereabouts.
