LA PAZ, Bolivia – Former Justice Minister César Siles has publicly denied claims that he fled Bolivia amid accusations in the 'Consorcio' case, stating he remains in the country and has voluntarily appeared before the Public Ministry. In an interview with Red Uno, Siles refuted allegations of committing any crime, asserting that an audio recording linking him to the case was manipulated. "I have not committed any crime," Siles stated, emphasizing his role as Justice Minister required coordination with various legal bodies. He further clarified that his recent resignation from the cabinet was a consensual decision made with the president, not a result of the ongoing investigation. Siles expressed his readiness to present all necessary evidence and justifications to prove his innocence. He also indicated that he is awaiting a formal notification from the Prosecutor's Office regarding the date and time for his official statement. The former minister suggested that the accusations against him are politically motivated, particularly after his previous statements regarding former President Evo Morales.
