SANTA CRUZ, Bolivia – Residents of Santa Cruz are facing significant challenges in their daily commutes today, as a combination of intense cold, persistent rain, and a public holiday has led to a drastic reduction in public transport services. The scarcity of 'micros' (minibuses) has left numerous commuters stranded at bus stops, enduring long waits in adverse weather conditions. Many citizens expressed their frustration during interviews. One woman stated, 'I've been waiting for over half an hour, and there are no micros. It's because of the cold, maybe the diesel shortage.' Another commuter added, 'We've been waiting for about 20 minutes, and there's nothing. The micros aren't coming out because of the cold and bad weather.' This situation highlights the difficulties faced by the public when essential services are disrupted, especially during holidays and severe weather.
