Mother Seeks Justice One Year After Son's Fatal Accident in Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz, Bolivia – Over a year has passed since a tragic accident at the 8th ring and Cumavi Avenue in Santa Cruz, where a young man was fatally struck by a trailer. The family of the 18-year-old victim continues their agonizing wait for justice, as the implicated driver's hearing was once again suspended.A family representative stated, "In this hearing, we are seeking a condemnatory sentence of four years." He detailed the circumstances of the accident, which occurred as the victims were heading to work on a motorcycle, when the accused's tanker truck "imprudently ran them over," resulting in two fatalities and one person sustaining serious injuries. The victim's mother, visibly distraught, shared, "He was my son, my only son. They took him from me at 18 years old." She expressed her relentless pursuit of justice, stating, "From that moment, I continue to fight for justice for my son, so that his death does not go unpunished." She further criticized the accused, alleging that he constantly presents "medical certificates for illnesses that are not even for medical leave" and shows no remorse, despite "conclusive evidence" of his culpability.
