Municipal Council Under Scrutiny: Allegations of Unauthorized Object Removal in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz, Bolivia – Councilors from the Unidad Cívica Solidaridad (UCS) party have raised serious concerns regarding the alleged unauthorized removal of documents and objects from the Municipal Council offices. A UCS representative, interviewed by Red Uno, stated that staff associated with former councilors were observed taking various items, including a large framed picture, from the building without any official notification or inventory. “It is regrettable and shameful that, despite all legal instances and the regulations of the Municipal Council, they are removing things from this Municipal Council without our knowledge,” the UCS representative stated. She added, “We have seen that the personnel who worked with former councilors Mucarcel and Alcocer are the ones removing different objects, different materials. We are unaware of what they are. We saw them take a painting.” UCS is demanding immediate explanations from the interim president, José Alberti, regarding these actions. The party emphasizes the need for transparency and full disclosure on what items are being removed and whether proper procedures, including inventory and fixed asset protocols, are being followed. The incident has sparked questions about potential political maneuvers and the integrity of the council’s operations.
