La falta de información y la premura del momento pueden jugar en contra del cliente
Madrid, Spain - A local resident, Sareur, recently shared a distressing experience with a locksmith that has sparked debate online regarding service transparency and pricing. Returning home late on October 25, 2025, Sareur and her companion found themselves locked out of their apartment in Madrid. After gaining entry to their building with a neighbor's help, they contacted a locksmith to open their apartment door. According to Sareur, the locksmith charged 350 euros to open the door and an additional 250 euros to replace the lock cylinder, plus VAT, bringing the total cost to 701.80 euros. "It seems like madness to me," Sareur stated in her video, questioning the legality and fairness of such high charges, especially since the cost was not disclosed upfront. The incident highlights consumer concerns about emergency service pricing and the need for clear communication on costs before work commences. Authorities often advise consumers to request a detailed quote before any work is done, even in emergency situations, to avoid potential overcharging.
