A frequent Chipotle customer says a worker denied her request for white rice after she stood in line for 10 minutes.
A customer identified as Sari (@sarkrip) recently shared a video detailing a frustrating experience at a Chipotle restaurant, sparking discussion online about fast-casual dining policies. The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 PM after Sari had waited in line for ten minutes to place an in-person order. According to Sari's account, she requested white rice for her order, only to be informed by a staff member that it was unavailable for direct purchase. However, she observed a freshly refilled container of white rice clearly designated for mobile orders. When she inquired if she could receive rice from this readily available supply, a second employee intervened, stating that the rice was exclusively for mobile orders. Sari recounted her disbelief, stating, "He was like, 'No, you would have to place a mobile order to get it.'" She further explained her frustration, "You're telling me, even though I'm in the store, I would have to go on my phone, place a mobile order where I have to wait 15 minutes to access the white rice that's right in front of me?" The employee reportedly confirmed this policy. Expressing her annoyance, Sari emphasized her loyalty to the brand. "I'm a loyal Chipotle fan. Like, I'm there all the time. Why can you not spare me a freaking scoop of white rice when I'm there at 8 PM after work when it's right in front of me?" The video highlights a growing point of contention for some consumers regarding the prioritization of digital orders over in-person service, even when resources are physically present.
