Vineyard's Anti-Hail Nets Successfully Protect Harvest Amidst Severe Storm
A recent hailstorm in Ukraine tested the resilience of local vineyards, but for one grower, preparation paid off. Shpakvino, a vineyard owner, shared footage of their property after a significant hail event. The video clearly shows numerous hailstones scattered across the ground, indicating the intensity of the storm. However, the grapevines and other cultivated plants beneath the installed anti-hail nets appear largely unharmed. The anti-hail netting system effectively caught the falling ice, with visible accumulations of hail resting on the stretched nets. 'The nets worked perfectly, protecting our harvest,' stated the owner, demonstrating how the protective covering prevented direct impact on the delicate plants. While some small, unprotected areas showed minor signs of hail, the main vineyard sections remained intact, underscoring the crucial role of such protective measures in modern agriculture against unpredictable weather phenomena.
