Travel Agency Owner in Ciudad del Este Charged with Alleged 16 Million Guaraníes Fraud
Ciudad del Este, Paraguay - Lidia Graciela Paiva Morínigo, owner of the "Grazie Travel" tourism agency, has been formally charged with alleged fraud. The imputation follows a complaint from two individuals who claim they were defrauded after transferring 16 million guaraníes for airline tickets to Spain. According to the victims' statements, they made the payment to Ms. Paiva Morínigo for the travel arrangements. Prosecutor Luis Fernando Escobar, head of Penal Unit Number Seven in Ciudad del Este, has filed charges against Ms. Paiva Morínigo for the punishable act of fraud, as stipulated in Article 187, subsection one, in conjunction with Article 29 of the Penal Code. The prosecutor has requested the Court of Guarantees to apply alternative measures to imprisonment for the accused.
