‘Those are the most popular roaches in Wisconsin’: Airbnb guest complains to Te…
An Airbnb host says in a video that a 'guest from hell' caused a roach infestation on the property she manages.
An Airbnb host in the San Antonio area recently shared a challenging experience involving a guest who reported a cockroach infestation at her property. The host, who manages 25 properties in the Texas Hill Country, stated that this was the first guest to rent the specific property. According to the host, the guest contacted her on the fifth night of their stay, sending a picture of a cockroach found in a trash can. The host promptly arranged for pest control. Upon inspection, the pest control technician discovered that the roaches were emanating from the guest's moving boxes, which had been stored in the garage. The guest had recently moved from Wisconsin to Texas. Following this, the guest allegedly contacted Airbnb, requesting a full refund due to a "roach infestation." The host provided Airbnb with the pest control report, which indicated the source of the insects. Additionally, the host reported that the guest falsely claimed there was a "Blink Sync" recording device on the property. The host confirmed no such device exists. Further issues arose when a neighbor contacted the host, complaining about overflowing trash left outside the property by the guest. The host expressed frustration with Airbnb's perceived lack of support for hosts in such situations. The guest reportedly remains at the property despite the ongoing dispute.
