In a recent video statement, Gilabert confirmed that discussions between her legal representatives, Marian's lawyers, and both families have concluded in an accord. According to Gilabert, the agreement stipulates that Marian will receive a minor sentence, with the judge determining whether it will involve internment or supervised freedom. Gilabert stated, "Everyone deserves a second chance in life, and I am not one to deprive people of their freedom." She also confirmed that Marian has personally apologized to her.
