Lima, Peru – Mayor Rafael López Aliaga announced today a new initiative to bolster security across the capital, involving the strategic deployment of drones equipped with artificial intelligence. Speaking at a public event, López Aliaga detailed how these advanced aerial devices would be integrated into the city's security infrastructure.
"We will reach all of Lima with this technology," Mayor López Aliaga stated, emphasizing the accessibility and cost-effectiveness of the plan. He noted that the technology is already available in Peru, with existing local providers, which will facilitate a swift implementation process.
According to the Mayor, the AI-powered drones will be capable of monitoring areas from above, detecting criminal activities, and transmitting real-time alerts to a central control and monitoring unit. He further explained that the drones possess the ability to descend and issue warnings, likening their comprehensive surveillance capabilities to that of a condor. This initiative aims to significantly enhance the city's ability to respond to and prevent crime, marking a modern approach to urban security.
