Rafael López Aliaga's Train Derails on First Day; MTC Warns Infrastructure Not Ready

Lima, Peru – A train associated with Mayor Rafael López Aliaga's project reportedly derailed near Parque de la Muralla on its inaugural run. The incident, captured in video footage, shows a passenger train car with its wheels off the tracks. The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has issued a warning, stating that the trains presented by the Municipality of Lima are not yet cleared for operation due to incomplete infrastructure. The MTC emphasized the need for all necessary infrastructure to be fully prepared and approved before the trains can safely transport passengers. Concerns have been raised regarding public safety and the premature presentation of the transport system.
