Madrid, Spain – A recent online video by financial expert FISCALIDAD PARA TODOS has shed light on a valuable, yet often overlooked, strategy for Spanish employees to reduce their tax burden: flexible remuneration plans. The expert explains how certain benefits, when received in kind rather than as part of a cash salary, can be exempt from income tax (IRPF). According to the video, employees can significantly lower their taxable income by opting for benefits such as food tickets (up to 11 euros per day), transport allowances (up to 1,500 euros per year), and medical insurance (up to 500 euros per person). These benefits, while not received as direct cash, cover expenses that employees would incur anyway, effectively increasing their net disposable income without being subject to taxation. “If you act now, you will pay less taxes next year,” the expert states, highlighting a 1,400 euro exempt amount shown on a sample tax document. He further explains that if this amount were not exempt, it would be added to the taxable income, leading to higher tax payments. For a salary base of 43,000 euros, utilizing these exemptions could lead to savings of around 500 euros. The video advises employees to inquire directly with their companies about the availability of flexible remuneration plans. While larger companies are more likely to offer such schemes, it is recommended for all employees to explore this option as a legitimate way to optimize their tax situation.
