‘My blood was boiling inside’: Florida Ross shopper tries to go into the fittin…
Managers at Ross told a Florida-based mother of young twin boys she couldn’t take them with her into the same changing stall as her.
Boca Raton, FL – A local mother, Jaimie Rose, has voiced her frustration after a recent incident at Ross Store 0494 in Boca Raton. Rose, who was shopping with her elementary-aged twin boys, was reportedly denied access to the women's fitting room with her children.According to Rose, store managers, identified as Luis and Alex, informed her that her sons were not permitted in the women's fitting room. They suggested alternative options, including leaving the children unsupervised in the store's furniture section or sending them to the men's fitting room. Rose expressed her shock and concern over these suggestions, particularly emphasizing the safety risks of leaving young children unattended in a public space."I was told that trying on clothes was a choice, and if that's the choice that I wanted, that I could leave my kids in the furniture section," Rose stated in her video, highlighting the perceived absurdity of the policy. She also questioned why the store did not offer family fitting rooms if such restrictions were in place.Rose attempted to escalate the issue with another manager, a woman, who reiterated that it was a store policy for children of "school age" or "when they start speaking" not to enter women's fitting rooms. Rose found this explanation confusing and inconsistent.Feeling unheard and dissatisfied with the resolution at the store level, Rose contacted Ross corporate. A district manager reportedly acknowledged her concerns and expressed regret that a solution wasn't found. However, Rose remains deeply troubled by the experience, citing Florida's human trafficking concerns as a significant factor in her protective stance as a mother. She stated she would not allow her children to be unsupervised or enter fitting rooms alone. The incident has led her to declare she will no longer shop at that particular Ross location.
