Orlando Mom Speaks Out on Work Abuse After Job Loss: ‘You Don't Deserve That At…
An Orlando mom recently described her struggle after losing her cleaning job, saying it left her injured, underpaid, and discarded.
Worker Alleges Severe Abuse by Cleaning Company, Claims Injury Led to Termination A woman identified as Steph-Lynn, known online as "vibe_unfiltered," has come forward with serious allegations of workplace abuse against a cleaning company, where she claims to have worked for approximately five months. In a recent video, Steph-Lynn detailed a series of exploitative practices, including being forced to work over 40 hours a week without overtime pay and being denied legitimate breaks, despite company claims to the IRS. "I would put in 10 to 11 hours of work some days," Steph-Lynn stated, explaining that she was not compensated for time spent setting up, packing up, or driving between cleaning sites. She further alleged that the company deducted $7 per house for supplies, even though they purchased in bulk, significantly reducing her earnings. "If you put that together, I was basically working for free," she claimed, citing instances where she earned as little as $23 for a house. The intense physical demands of the job reportedly led to Steph-Lynn developing carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands, a condition that may require surgery. She recounted a distressing turn of events: "As soon as I needed to figure out my hands and what I was going to do, whether I need surgery or whatnot, they let me go." She added that the company offered to rehire her full-time only after her health improved. Steph-Lynn, a mother of a four-year-old, expressed profound distress, highlighting that the company owners are "millionaires" who "couldn't even give me a chance to get my hands fixed." She is seeking to raise awareness about work abuse and advocate for others facing similar situations.
