Un cuplu și-a abandonat copilul în vârstă de 10 ani pe un aeroport din Spania pentru a nu pierde zborul spre vacanța programată
Barcelona, Spain – An extraordinary incident unfolded at El Prat Airport when a 10-year-old boy was left alone by his parents after his passport was found to be expired. An airport coordinator, who was managing a flight, described the event as "totally surreal." The flight was preparing for departure when air traffic control alerted the crew to a child found alone in the terminal's landside area. The child informed authorities that his parents had boarded the plane, heading to their home country for vacation. Upon the plane's return to the gate, police identified the parents, who were traveling with a younger child. Their explanation to the Civil Guard was that the 10-year-old's passport from their home country was expired, and while he had a Spanish passport, it required a visa for their destination, which they did not possess. To avoid missing their flight, they decided to leave him behind, arranging for a relative to collect him. The coordinator expressed disbelief at the parents' seemingly normal reaction to abandoning their child. The police took the parents and the younger child to the police station. Fortunately, the family's luggage was quickly located at the gate, preventing further delays. The incident highlights a severe lapse in parental responsibility and the unexpected challenges faced by airport staff.
