A woman in Texas is claiming that Walmart falsely detained her and her young daughter after they were accused of stealing lip gloss.
A recent incident at a Walmart store has sparked controversy after a mother, Allison P, publicly accused the retail giant of false imprisonment and discrimination against her and her minor daughter. The event, documented in a widely shared video, reportedly occurred on October 22, 2025, when Ms. P and her daughter were allegedly detained in a back room by Walmart employees. According to Ms. P, staff demanded her daughter empty her pockets, subsequently confiscating a lip gloss that she insists had been purchased at a register. "Walmart put me and my daughter in a room detained without our permission," Ms. P stated in her online post, adding, "They ask my daughter to empty her pockets and took her lip gloss that we purchased at the make register from her like she was a criminal where she's just a child." She further alleged that the incident constituted "false imprisonment and discrimination against my daughter and for falsely accusing us as well for distressed." Ms. P is now seeking legal counsel to pursue a lawsuit against Walmart, claiming the actions amounted to assault on her daughter. Walmart has not yet issued a public statement regarding the allegations.
