Man Sentenced to 39 Years for Christmas Day Murders and Attempted Murders
London, UK – Jazwell Brown has been sentenced to 39 years in prison for the horrific Christmas Day 2024 attacks that resulted in two murders and two attempted murders. Police and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) officials delivered a statement outside the court following the sentencing. The events, described as "truly horrific and tragic," began in Brown's home where he repeatedly stabbed his partner, Jo, before turning a knife and baseball bat on a teenage boy. Jo's dog, Tilly, was also repeatedly stabbed but survived. Following these attacks, Brown left his home and attempted to enter a nearby flat, carrying the knife and baseball bat. Inside this flat, he fatally stabbed Teohna multiple times. Teohna's partner, Bradley, was also brutally attacked, sustaining over 20 injuries to his neck, but miraculously survived. Compelling evidence in the case included eyewitness accounts, forensic evidence such as DNA from a baseball bat found in the kitchen, and a knife recovered from Brown's car, all pointing to the weapons he used in the attack. Blood from the victims was also found on Brown's clothing. During custody, Brown made self-incriminating remarks, stating it was "plain murder" and not self-defense. Due to the overwhelming evidence, Brown admitted to his crimes, thankfully sparing the victims' families and friends the ordeal of a trial. Officials praised the emergency services for their "incredible bravery and dedication," noting that "the outcome could have been even worse were it not for their decisive actions."
