Hungarian Entrepreneur's Plea for Justice: Stolen Mustang Sold in France, Perpetrator Allegedly Walks Free Budapest, Hungary – Bence Halmi, a prominent Hungarian entrepreneur and the CEO of both Brand Legends Agency and Shelby Rent, has ignited a fervent public discussion after his company's Ford Mustang Mach-E was reportedly stolen and sold in France, with the alleged perpetrator seemingly evading immediate legal consequences. The incident, which occurred on October 1, 2025, saw the luxury electric vehicle rented out, only for it to disappear and later be traced to France, where it was allegedly sold by the renter. Mr. Halmi, clearly distraught, shared his ordeal in a recent video, articulating his profound frustration with the perceived deficiencies in the French legal system. "French laws allow a person who sells someone else's car to walk free. This is unbelievable that it can happen," Halmi stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. He further elaborated on the investigative efforts, noting, "We found the criminal, we know where he is, we found him with my partner and a private investigator. But the French police are sitting on it, they can't find him, while we did." The entrepreneur's primary concern revolves around the alleged lack of accountability, which he believes highlights a critical legal loophole. "How is it possible that a criminal is identified, located, and yet remains free?" he questioned, appealing to a wider audience. Halmi has pledged to relentlessly pursue justice, stating, "I will continue this story, and I really hope that this story will not only be continued here on social media, but I want to give a voice to this in the Hungarian press and also in the European press." His ultimate goal is to see the individual extradited, imprisoned, and to ensure the stolen vehicle is recovered. The case is rapidly becoming a focal point for discussions on cross-border legal enforcement and the protection of property rights within the European Union, raising questions about judicial consistency and citizen protection across member states.
