San Juan de Lurigancho, Peru – A retired police officer, Carlos Cristóbal Galván, 58, was tragically shot and killed on Thursday night in San Juan de Lurigancho, near the Caja de Agua Metro de Lima station. Galván, a technical second-class officer retired from the police force and a father, was reportedly in his vehicle at a red light on Avenida Perú when an assailant approached on foot and fired up to five shots, impacting his head and ending his life instantly. The victim's body was found resting on the steering wheel of his car. The perpetrator fled the scene in an unknown direction. Galván, from the 1986 police promotion, was working as a security agent for a private company. His grieving relatives arrived at the crime scene, displaying profound sorrow.
