Madrid, Spain – The Spanish National Police has successfully dismantled a major criminal organization involved in human trafficking and sexual exploitation, leading to the liberation of 162 women and the arrest of 37 individuals across various Spanish provinces including Malaga, Murcia, Castellón, Valencia, and Alicante. The investigation was initiated following the courageous testimonies of three victims who detailed their harrowing experiences of sexual exploitation. Authorities revealed that the women were subjected to deplorable living conditions, often forced to reside in overcrowded apartments with inadequate sleeping arrangements, sometimes even on the same beds used for clients. The victims were under constant surveillance, monitored 24 hours a day through an extensive video vigilance system installed in all properties dedicated to prostitution. Their freedom was severely restricted, with women allowed to leave the premises for only two hours each morning. Furthermore, the criminal organization imposed various fines and confiscated 50% of the earnings from each service. This extensive operation underscores the ongoing commitment of the Spanish National Police to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals.
