Santa Cruz, Bolivia – A woman in Santa Cruz has reported a substantial theft, claiming she was robbed of $21,000 while attempting to settle a debt at a public notary office. The incident, which occurred on July 2, 2025, in the northern zone of the city, has prompted a police investigation.According to the victim's statement to the Bolivian Police's Special Force to Combat Crime (FELCC), she was at a notary office on Avenida Beni, between the second and third rings, to repay a loan to an individual identified as Wilfredo Camacho Valdivia. During the transaction, Camacho allegedly passed the $21,000 to an unknown third party, who then immediately fled the premises with the cash. The victim recounted that she acted quickly to prevent Camacho Valdivia from also escaping, managing to close a door and detain him until police arrived. Authorities subsequently arrested Camacho Valdivia.Police and prosecutors are now actively investigating the case. Efforts are underway to locate and review surveillance camera footage from the area to identify the accomplice who escaped with the money. Investigators suspect the theft may have been a pre-planned act involving the alleged creditor. Camacho Valdivia is currently in police custody as inquiries continue to recover the stolen funds and bring all responsible parties to justice.
