La Paz, Bolivia – As the first week of winter school holidays concludes, authorities across Bolivia have intensified health and travel controls at major bus terminals. A primary focus of these measures is ensuring the health safety of child travelers, specifically by requiring proof of measles vaccination. Medical brigades, deployed by the Departmental Health Service (SEDES) of the Governorate, are actively operating within the bimodal bus terminals. These teams are providing measles vaccinations for children under 10 years old, a crucial step in preventing the spread of the disease during the peak travel season. In addition to vaccination checks, officials are also verifying travel permits for minors, ensuring that children are accompanied by appropriate guardians or possess the necessary legal documentation for their journeys. The vaccination points are open daily until 10:00 PM, accommodating the high volume of families traveling to various departments across the country. This initiative aims to safeguard public health and ensure a safe holiday period for all.
