La Paz, Bolivia – During a recent segment of Red Uno's "UNO DECIDE 2025" political debate, Rodrigo Paz, a candidate representing the PDC party, voiced strong opinions on the future of Bolivia's educational system. Addressing a question about current educational policies, Paz declared that the "Ley Avelino Siñani" is no longer viable for the country's progress. Paz asserted that the existing law, which has been a cornerstone of educational reform, requires significant transformation. He proposed a "50-50" model, emphasizing a balanced contribution from both central government and regional entities in shaping national education. "The centrality of the law, the centrality of the ideological... for starters, I want to tell you that the little dolls of Evo Morales in the books are surely going to fly," Paz stated, indicating a desire to remove specific ideological influences from educational materials. He further elaborated on his vision, explaining that regions should have the autonomy to construct 50% of the national education's resource contribution. "That law is no longer viable. We are going to transform it to build the 50-50," Paz reiterated, highlighting a shift towards a more decentralized and regionally tailored educational framework. This stance from Paz signals a potential significant change in educational policy should he be elected.
