La Paz, Bolivia – Mothers across Bolivia have launched a protest at the Service for the Development of Public Productive Enterprises (SEDEM) facilities, demanding improved quality and fair pricing for the subsidized products they receive. The demonstration highlights growing discontent among beneficiaries who claim that recent changes to the subsidy program have resulted in the distribution of older products and increased costs. Protesting mothers voiced particular concern over the packaging of essential goods, such as milk. "They are giving us milk in bags, which is not suitable for storage, especially in humid climates like Santa Cruz. It attracts insects and spoils quickly," stated one mother during the protest. She added, "We want milk in cans, and we want to be part of the selection process for the products in our packages." Demonstrators also accused SEDEM of overcharging for the subsidized items. "Every time, the prices go up, and they deliver less," another mother claimed. The protesters have submitted formal letters requesting a meeting with Roselin Rossem, the General Manager of SEDEM's Articulation, to discuss their demands and seek immediate solutions. They emphasize their right to receive high-quality, safe products for their children.
