La Paz, Bolivia – July 23, 2025 – Reports from La Paz indicate widespread denunciations of irregular fuel sales, with diesel prices reportedly soaring to 25 Bolivianos per liter in some northern provinces. Inter-departmental and inter-provincial transport sectors have voiced concerns, stating that the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) has not conducted sufficient operations to curb the illicit trade. Drivers are reportedly waiting up to three days to refuel. Meanwhile, in Santa Cruz, Boliviana de Aviación (BOA) officially inaugurated new commercial flight operations from Viru Viru Airport. The first flight departed for Guayaramerín, with additional routes planned for San Ignacio de Velasco and Riberalta. The inauguration ceremony saw the participation of President Luis Arce and other national and municipal authorities. Police and NABOL are overseeing the new operations. In Cochabamba, residents are celebrating Friendship Day on July 23rd. Young people are flocking to traditional markets, particularly the 'Correo' area, to purchase various gifts such as flowers, balloons, and chocolates. Many are also planning gatherings and shared meals to commemorate the day.
