Among the critical findings were expired cakes in the dessert section, with one item clearly past its sell-by date of October 7, 2025. Additionally, a display of unpackaged cookies lacked crucial labeling information regarding production dates, shelf life, and manufacturer details, making it impossible for consumers to assess freshness or origin. The investigation also revealed pre-packaged cheeses whose slicing dates had expired earlier that morning but were still available for purchase late into the evening. Further issues were identified in the frozen food aisle, where various seafood products, including shrimp and octopus, were found to have excessive ice glaze, indicating potential thawing and refreezing, or an intentional over-glazing to increase weight. The video also highlighted sushi rolls displayed for over six hours, exceeding the maximum permissible storage time according to sanitary regulations. Upon presenting the findings to a store administrator, the investigator reported that while a refund for the expired items was issued, the employee's reaction suggested a lack of awareness regarding the severity of the violations. "They didn't seem to understand the problem," the author stated, raising questions about staff training and the supermarket's internal quality control mechanisms. This incident underscores the ongoing importance of consumer vigilance and robust enforcement of food safety regulations to protect public health and ensure fair trade practices.
