Pagar en efectivo este verano puede traerte problemas con Hacienda. Conoce los límites legales, las sanciones y cómo evitar una multa.
Madrid, Spain – The Spanish Tax Agency (Hacienda) has clarified regulations concerning cash payments and the movement of cash, particularly relevant for citizens during the summer vacation period. According to fiscal experts, including those from 'FISCALIDAD PARA TODOS', it is crucial to be aware of the limits to avoid potential fines and sanctions. Under current Spanish law, cash payments for transactions involving businesses or professionals are limited to a maximum of 1,000 euros. Any payment exceeding this amount must be made through traceable methods, such as bank transfers or card payments. Failure to comply can result in penalties for both the payer and the recipient. Furthermore, strict rules apply to carrying large sums of cash. Individuals traveling outside Spain must declare any amount of cash equal to or exceeding 10,000 euros to the Tax Agency. For movements of cash within Spain, a declaration is required for amounts equal to or exceeding 100,000 euros. These declarations are made through Model S-1, an informative form that does not incur any payment but ensures transparency regarding large cash movements. Experts advise adherence to these regulations to prevent issues with Hacienda.
