

Belarusian Police Increase Motorcycle Safety Measures in Brest
Brest Region Road Safety Measures During Motorcycle Season Brest, Belarus – With the motorcycle season underway, the Brest Regional Department of State Auto Inspection (GAI) has implemented preventative measures to reduce accidents. A recent report from Alexander Avramchuk, Deputy Head of the GAI, highlights the increased police presence on roads and in towns. Avramchuk stated, "From May 18th to 24th, a republican preventative action, 'Motorcycle Movement Without Violations,' was conducted." The initiative focuses on preventing and stopping traffic rule violations by motorcyclists through both overt and covert surveillance. Statistics show 22 accidents involving motorcycles in Brest region since the start of the year, resulting in four deaths and 22 injuries. Fifteen of these accidents were due to motorcyclist error. The GAI is urging motorcyclists to follow traffic rules and be considerate of other road users. The increased police presence and preventative measures are hoped to improve road safety and reduce accidents during the busy motorcycle season.
