Expert Reveals the Powerful Health Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Warsaw, Poland – Dr. Karolina Kowalczyk, a clinical dietitian and food technology engineer, recently highlighted the crucial role of Omega-3 fatty acids in maintaining overall health. In a recent online video, Dr. Kowalczyk underscored that these polyunsaturated fatty acids are indispensable for the human body, as they cannot be synthesized internally. According to Dr. Kowalczyk, Omega-3s offer significant protective benefits for both the circulatory and nervous systems. They are vital components of the retina, making up approximately 60% of its structure, and contribute to 70% of brain composition. Beyond their structural roles, these fatty acids are potent anti-inflammatory agents and play a key role in modulating the immune system, enhancing the body's defensive responses. Furthermore, Dr. Kowalczyk explained that Omega-3s contribute to healthy skin, hair, and nails by hydrating cell membranes. They are also effective in reducing triglyceride levels and 'bad' cholesterol, thereby playing a crucial role in preventing atherosclerosis. She cautioned that while plant-based sources like flaxseed oil contain Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA), they lack the essential Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), which are primarily found in fish. Therefore, she advises supplementation to ensure adequate intake of these vital nutrients.
