Guatemala City, July 1, 2025 – The Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure, and Housing (CIV), in coordination with the Road Conservation Unit (COVIAL), has announced partial nocturnal lane closures on the CA-09 South highway within the jurisdiction of Villa Nueva. These closures will take place from July 1 to July 7, 2025, to facilitate preventative geophysical studies. The technical investigations will focus on specific points of the CA-09 South road, requiring temporary restrictions on vehicular circulation during nighttime hours. According to an official statement issued on June 25, the works will not involve a total closure of the road but rather targeted lane restrictions. Traffic flow will be prioritized through coordination with the Directorate of Road Protection and Safety (PROVIAL) and the Municipal Transit Police (PMT) of Villa Nueva. Reversible lanes will be implemented if necessary to minimize disruptions. Authorities recommend that road users plan their journeys in advance to avoid any inconveniences during the study period. These preventative measures are crucial for ensuring road safety and the proper conservation of this strategic thoroughfare.
