Major Road Reconstruction Begins on La Guardia Double Highway to Eliminate Potholes
Santa Cruz, Bolivia – Road reconstruction efforts have commenced on the double highway leading to La Guardia, specifically at the 15-kilometer mark. The project, which involves the replacement of existing pavement with a new rigid surface, aims to address long-standing issues with potholes that have affected local transporters and commuters. According to officials, including the Mayor, the initial phase of the work covers a 90-meter stretch of the highway. The project is scheduled to proceed continuously, day and night, for a period of 12 days. To facilitate the construction, traffic diversions will be implemented. Light vehicles traveling towards La Guardia will be redirected to the south side of the road, crossing over to the right lane of the opposing carriageway near the 15-kilometer point, before rejoining their original route near the Bolivian Brewery. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution and plan their commutes accordingly by departing earlier to account for potential delays. This pavement replacement is anticipated to provide a durable solution, with an estimated useful life of 50 years, significantly improving road conditions and safety for all users.
