Guatemalan Congressman Denounces Major Delays in National Stadium Renovation

Guatemala City, Guatemala – Congressman Orlando Blanco today reported significant delays in the renovation of Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores, Guatemala's largest sports facility. Standing on the stadium's currently uncompleted field, Blanco stated that the works, which commenced on January 6th and were slated for completion by December 6th, are now approximately 25% behind schedule. The renovation project includes the installation of a new natural and artificial grass field, along with a new athletics track. However, key components such as the irrigation system, the prepared base for the hybrid grass, and the asphalt layer for the track are reportedly still missing. Congressman Blanco criticized the responsible company, the executing unit, and the Guatemalan Autonomous Sports Confederation (CDAG) for the lack of progress and material provision, calling the situation 'irresponsible'.
