Endangered Przewalski's Horses Arrive in Kazakhstan: A Conservation Success
A new group of Przewalski's horses has arrived in Kazakhstan as part of an ambitious reintroduction program. The animals, transported from Central Europe, were carefully released into a protected area. "This is a significant milestone in our efforts to restore biodiversity," said Daniyar Turgambayev, Chairman of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project, known as the "Return of the Wild Horses," involves collaboration between Kazakhstan, the Prague Zoo, and the Hortobágy National Park in Hungary. Miroslav Bobek, director of the Prague Zoo, added, "These horses are crucial for establishing a viable local population in the wild." The video shows the animals' journey from transport crates to their new habitat, emphasizing the careful handling and release process. The successful arrival of these endangered horses represents a significant step towards preserving biodiversity in Kazakhstan.
