A former CBS employee, Trey Sherman, has publicly alleged that recent layoffs at the media giant exhibited racial bias, claiming that all producers of color on his team were terminated while all white colleagues were offered internal relocation. Sherman, who was among those laid off, recounted a meeting with an executive where he inquired about relocation opportunities for his team. Initially, he was informed that such options were not available for his group. However, upon further investigation, Sherman discovered that white employees had indeed been relocated. Confronting the executive again, Sherman was reportedly told that the decision to retain certain employees was based on prior working relationships. Sherman stated, "I’m supposed to believe that’s coincidence?" and concluded, "If the outcome of that decision is racist, the action was racist, that shit is fucked." The allegations raise significant questions about CBS's internal policies and commitment to diversity and inclusion during workforce restructuring.
