Malaysia to Fully Enforce Vehicle Entry Permit System
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Starting July 1st, 2025, Malaysia will fully enforce its Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) system at all land entry points. Transport Minister Anthony Loke made the announcement, stating that fines will be levied against foreign vehicle owners who haven't registered or activated their VEP tags. "This is a crucial step to streamline border control and ensure compliance," Loke said during a press conference. The penalty for non-compliance is a significant fine, and the enforcement will be handled by the Road Transport Department (JPJ). The ministry also provided statistics on VEP tag usage, highlighting the number of tags issued and those yet to be activated. This comprehensive enforcement aims to improve traffic management and revenue collection.
