Santa Cruz, Bolivia – Residents of Santa Cruz are advised to prepare for the coldest week of the year, as temperatures are set to drop significantly, coinciding with the start of winter vacations. Meteorologist Cristina Chirino, in a report by Unitel Bolivia, confirmed the arrival of a strong cold front that has already caused a noticeable decrease in temperatures across the city and the country. According to Chirino, the maximum temperature today reached 17 degrees Celsius, with minimums expected to fall to 13-14 degrees Celsius by the end of the day. Looking ahead, the upcoming week is projected to be the coldest, with minimum temperatures in Santa Cruz anticipated to be around 8 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures will range between 14 and 20 degrees Celsius, indicating cold mornings. Wind gusts from the south have already exceeded 60 kilometers per hour. The combination of low temperatures and strong winds will result in a thermal sensation of approximately 5-6 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the meteorologist warned that due to the influx of humid air from the Brazilian Amazon, there is a possibility of solid precipitation, specifically snowfall, in the Cruceño Valleys, including areas like La Paz, Oruro, and Potosí. Authorities urge citizens to take precautions and dress warmly to avoid respiratory illnesses during this period of intense cold.
