Elderly Woman Found Dead in La Paz Home; Ex-Son-in-Law Apprehended

La Paz, Bolivia – An elderly woman was found deceased in the patio of her home in the Chinchaya area of La Paz, with family members reporting signs of violence on her body. The victim, who was reportedly alone at the time of the incident, was discovered by her grandson, Edison Alex, who described finding her hat, shoes, and his grandmother at the bottom of the stairs, without vital signs. He also noted that the door and walls of the house showed signs of being struck with stones, and his grandmother's neck and blouse were pulled, with her tongue bitten. Police have apprehended the alleged perpetrator, identified as the victim's ex-son-in-law. According to family statements, the suspect frequently harassed them and had previously entered the home through a window to assault his ex-partner. Prosecutor Carlos Cortez confirmed the legal lifting of the body and stated that investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of death and the legal classification of the crime. Authorities collected a wallet and glasses believed to belong to the suspect, along with other evidence from the scene, to aid in the ongoing investigation.
