Man Arrested After Burning Partner for Refusing Alcohol in Atocha, Potosí

Atocha, Potosí – A tragic incident of domestic violence has shaken the community of Atocha, Potosí, after a 31-year-old woman was severely burned by her partner for refusing to consume alcoholic beverages. The incident occurred at the victim's residence. According to Cnl. Eduardo Moscoso, Departmental Director of FELCV, the man attempted to force his partner to drink alcohol. When she refused, stating she was caring for their children, he allegedly doused her with alcohol and set her on fire. The woman sustained serious burns and was immediately transported to a local medical center in Atocha, where she is currently receiving specialized attention. Authorities quickly responded to the scene. The aggressor was apprehended hours after the attack. Following a precautionary hearing, the court ordered his preventive detention in the Tupiza prison, pending further investigation into the incident.
